Job DescriptionJob Purpose or Objective(s): You will respond to written and telephone inquiries regarding unemployment claim status, program requirements and procedures. You will complete written decisions to parties of interest following policy, legal precedents and state and federal law. You will report to the Unemployment Director.Primary Tasks:
- You will receive and prioritize claims, questionnaires, determinations, and other unemployment related data.
- Analyze individual case information by reviewing data accessed through the PC, from the investigative telephone calls or document images, to determine if the facts warrant a response.
- Respond to a customer or state agency with all important details within the time frame allowed by the state or departmental procedures.
- Initiate telephone calls, faxes, or emails to the customer to obtain, document or pass along needed information.
- You will research, review, and advise claimants on unfamiliar concepts, filing options, and programs that apply to claim activities.
- Direct associates in implementing and completing necessary steps to resolve issues or satisfy inquiries.
- Inform unemployment claimants of their rights and responsibilities, answering claimants' questions about the Unemployment Insurance process.
- Represent the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma at administrative unemployment compensation hearings.
- Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years customer service-related experience or 2 years related experience.
- Computer and typing skills, including the ability to navigate between several different software programs.
- Work with people in an open, honest manner; demonstrate respect for the opinions of others; and maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Understand diverse perspectives, manage conflict and respond in different conversations.
- Two (2) years of work experience performing administrative, customer or employment service responsibilities.
