Overview:Located in McLeansville, NC, ACC West is searching for a full-time Union Equipment Operator to join their team. Candidates must have a Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement.Company Overview:American Civil Constructors West Coast (ACC West) is a part of the Fortune 500 Parent Company, MasTec, Inc. ACC West Coast is a heavy civil construction company specializing in retrofitting and repairing bridges, as well as performing specialized pavement overlays throughout the country for various DOTs and Public Works Agencies. We are growing our business and searching for knowledgeable, dedicated individuals that will complement our team.Responsibilities:Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.Operate heavy equipment, including knowledge of equipment functions, navigation, and problem detection.Build level and/or extreme terrain and excavate land surfaces using various pieces of construction equipment.Drive and maneuver equipment to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, distributing and leveling earth or terrain.Gather and load dirt, stone, equipment, materials, and waste products from job sites onto trucks using different pieces of equipment.Excavate trenches with proper slopes per OSHA.Coordinate machine actions with other activities, responding to hand or audio signals from crew members.Communicate clearly and understand information through spoken words to ensure comprehension of job duties and safety regulations.Perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling machines; fill out maintenance reports daily.Travel to different job sites on limited notice.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Foreman.Qualifications:1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 1 year of experience in a heavy equipment operation role.Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.Participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.Set a personal example of safe behavior.Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, and perform these operations using units of weight measurement and volume.Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form.Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.Other duties may be assigned.This will be a union position.
