Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Union Liaison to join our client's team in supporting commercial energy efficiency programs. This senior outreach position will work closely with local electrical, mechanical, labor, and other unions in New Jersey to promote and engage them in energy efficiency initiatives. The Union Liaison will serve as the primary point of contact between the unions, program management teams, and stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of energy efficiency services to eligible customers. This position requires a proactive and adaptable individual, capable of managing multiple responsibilities while meeting program goals. Promote energy efficiency programs through outreach and community engagement within the union network. Research and identify qualified local NJ unions eligible for participation in energy efficiency initiatives. Conduct site visits to various unions to connect with members and key stakeholders. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Responsible for vehicle maintenance and associated fees. Must reside in or near the designated service areas, preferably within regions identified as Overburdened Communities. Build and maintain strong relationships with the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), mechanical unions, and affiliated entities. Collaborate with existing Trade Ally Networks to foster partnerships between unions and program partners. Manage union-affiliated Trade Ally networks, providing project support and pipeline development. Prepare and deliver presentations to educate decision-makers about the benefits of energy efficiency programs. Track and report engagement efforts and participation via Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools. Ensure program targets for union participation are achieved. Provide feedback and oversee continuous improvement initiatives within the program.Skills Required: Prior experience working with unions, especially electrical and mechanical unions, is highly preferred. Strong understanding of the unique challenges and needs of the union community. Ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences, including union members, representatives, and community partners. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with key decision-makers. A committed approach to advocacy and support for union members. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends to attend meetings, events, or program activities. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively. Comfort and ease in facilitating group discussions with community stakeholders. Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and advocacy skills. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Must be NJ residentEducation & Experience: Minimum high school education or equivalent with at least 8 years of professional experience.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the energy and/or utility industry is a plus.
