Who we are looking for:We are searching for an Assembler/ ACS Utility based out of New Bedford, MA Duchaine Facility. Reporting to Value Stream Leader, the assembler will be responsible for performing any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools. What you'll do:Assembler/ACS responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Read and comprehend production Standard Work and Job Function Analysis (JFA)Ensure production materials are availableOperate and observe machinery during production.Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality to customer requirements and quality standardsCollaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goalsAdhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediatelyPerform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power toolsOperate chop saw cutting flexible metal conduit to specified lengthsPull multiple lengths of electrical copper wire through conduitCut & strip wire using manual hand toolsCrimp electrical contact onto wire ends using hand tool or automated crimp machinePerform close-in assembly work in manufacture of connector assembliesOperate any equipment needed to perform jobReport any quality control issues to supervisorWork as individual or team environmentPerform related duties as needed by supervisionWhat you'll bring:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent1½ years Assembly, Machine Operator and/or manufacturing experienceAbility to understand and follow instructionsAbility to read and understand basic electrical schematic diagramsPay attention to detailMaintain a clean & safe environmentAble to lift 50 pounds unassistedRegularly required to stand for long periods of timeRegularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsFrequently required to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controlsFrequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hearSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusWithin 3 months, you'll:Complete any required trainingHave developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.Who we are: Atkore is a four-time Great Place to Work© certified company and a two-time Top Workplaces USA award winner!
