General Summary: The Unit Clerk is responsible for clerical, receptionist, communication, and office supply procurement duties on the Nursing units. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Medical Terminology
- Basic computer experience required. Knowledge of Windows-based software packages, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
- Organized, accurate, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet demands.
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
- Excellent telephone etiquette skills.
Required Length and Type of Experience Office or Medical Assistant training preferred. Required Licensure or Certification
- BLS Required
- Office or Medical Assistant training, preferred.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity and repetitive hand/wrist motions to produce materials on the computer. Normal or corrected vision; normal or corrected hearing; extensive sitting and frequent walking; occasional lifting and carrying from 5 to 20 pounds. Ability to work in a high stress environment.
