OrganizationAdministrationPay$15.38Pay FrequencyHourlyFull Time / Part TimeFull timeJob SummaryUnder general supervision, performs multiple job tasks that are the combination of duties generally performed by a secretary, receptionist, inventory and data entry clerk, security Office and direct child care staff by performing the following duties.Job DescriptionAll candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Screen all visitors, agency personnel, attorneys, and clergy for visits or contact with juvenile residents in the unit or enter the unit. Supervise and monitor resident phone calls; interview callers and disposes of details not requiring official action or decision. Type correspondence, reports, and other material for section. Compile reports; organize, assemble, and summarize information and data for executive action when requested. Update and assist with keeping information for admitted and released juveniles in computer and resident's files. Operate and control input or deletions to computer. Support role and back up for Detention Administrative Secretary position. Coordinate movement of residents, visitors and staff throughout facility, including in and out. Assist school personnel with population movement and attendance records. Visually monitor dayroom activities to staff and residents through a large clear security glass windows; to ensure safety and security and to report any crisis or emergency to Main Control and Administration. Observe TV monitor and observes detained residents. Operate electronic security control panel and support and back up Main Control Operator. Maintain forms and Office supplies. Exposed to potential of physical assault by residents, during the secretary's movement throughout the facility while performing assigned tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Job DescriptionREQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESSkill in maintaining accurate records and files; in using electric typewriter, calculator, personal computers and related Office machines; in typing 50 WPM; and in formulating reports and other data.Knowledge of principles and practices of county and state regulations pertaining to juvenile care; of departmental policies and procedures; of a personal computer; of spelling and punctuation, and Business English.Ability to deal tactfully with others; to express both orally and in writing facts and opinions clearly and concisely; to establish effective interpersonal relationships and to create a constructive atmosphere for crisis problem solving; to auditoria perceive bells, alarms, and duress call for emergency response; to visually monitor TV screens; to include close vision and adjust focus; to visually and auditoria monitor electronic control panels; to provide frequent observation of detained residents; to read and complete required forms, records, and other reports; to remain fully awake and alert at all times; to prepare statistical reports; to prepare and complete admitting and release forms; to organize and plan work; to exercise initiative and independent judgment; and to perceive clerical errors.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
