Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Staffed by experienced therapists and instructors, the program supports adult patients as they attain their highest level of functioning and integration into the community. Matheny's Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries. Through the use of innovative communication systems, the artists have complete freedom to explore a world that is defined only by their unlimited creativity and unique self-expression.

Matheny Medical and Educational Center currently has a career opportunity availalbe for a Full Time Unit Coordintor. The hours for this position are 8:00am-4:00pm.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Uses discretion and protects the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Performs receptionist duties for the Nursing unit.
  • Performs patient admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
  • Manages all patient charts and reports.
  • Performs data entry as required by the Nurse Manager.
  • Manages the supplies and equipment on the Nursing unit.
  • Possesses knowledge of computers and other office and unit equipment.
  • Ensures that office equipment is in good working condition.
  • Maintains current and accurate information on the bulletin board.
  • Maintains reference books and Policy/Procedure manuals.
  • Assists, as directed, during emergency situations. Knows where emergency equipment is located.
  • Coordinates patients' medical trips to outside providers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED required.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred.

Good interpersonal skills required.

Licensure/Certifications:

Current CPR Level C Certification.
