Ergon Refining in Vicksburg currently has an opening for a Unit Inspector, this is a support position to the Maintenance / Engineering Department of Ergon Refining, Inc. The Unit Inspector will provide support for Mechanical Integrity programs and Fixed Equipment for assigned process units to improve overall reliability and safety.

Position Qualifications
* BS degree in Engineering1 - 2 years of experience in a petrochemical and/or manufacturing environment or a .
* Basic understanding of destructive and non-destructive inspection techniques, API and ASME fabrication and inspection codes, welding, and basic metallurgy is preferred.
* Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel, and PCMS or equivalent IDMS is preferred.
* Must have successfully completed and passed a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE).

* Mechanical Integrity (FEMI) to all fixed assets in assigned units
* Obtain and maintain certifications to API-510 and API-570 inspection standards
* Train and maintain competency in the subject matter listed in the body of knowledge for inspection competency in Ergon FEMI Standard section 4.1.5
* Ensure all assets in assigned units are included in the Master Asset List and are implemented in PCMS (site IDMS). Audit to ensure all assets are planned, scheduled, and inspected at proper intervals
* Systemize and circuitize piping based on procedure and damage mechanism susceptibility. Includes making system and circuit adjustments for piping repairs, alterations, additions, and demolition. Ensure updates are recorded properly on record documents (PFDs, P&IDs)
* Develop inspection isometrics for piping circuits and inspection drawings for equipment using drawing templates and procedure
* Allocate CMLs for all circuits and equipment in assigned units based on damage mechanism susceptibility and CML Allocation procedure
* Ensure all required inspections and NDE are assigned and maintained in PCMS for each circuit and asset with proper inspection intervals
* Perform and coordinate API 510 and API 570 external inspections and API 510 internal inspections in accordance with inspection schedules. Includes analysis and review of contract inspection reports and documenting all findings in PCMS through events and report attachments
* Coordinate CML inspections at required intervals. Includes UT thickness, profile RT, and advanced NDE methods for cracking mechanisms as required. Review NDE results
* Perform and coordinate Special Emphasis program inspections, such as CUI / CUF, Injection Point / Mixing Point, Infrared Refractory Scans, Positive Material Identification (PMI) and Dead Leg inspections
* Analyze data in PCMS to ensure thickness readings and inspection results are properly recorded, calculations are performed, and future inspection schedules are adjusted accordingly and properly maintained
* Initiate Inspection Recommendations (IR) based on inspection findings including recommended corrective action per procedure. Track IRs to completion and verify adequacy of the corrective action
* Conduct level 1 Fitness For Service (FFS) assessments as required
* Respond and assess condition of leaking piping or equipment. Develop repair plan or provide input to Reliability Engineer for further development
* For assigned units, develop Inspection Work Plans (IWPs) for all API 510 required internal inspections for turnaround (TAR) planning. To include required inspections, cleanliness, access, NDE requirements. Utilize guidance in API 510 and API RP 572
* Coordinate jurisdictional / insurance required inspections for boilers and pressure vessels for all assets in assigned units
* Perform and coordinate inspections of structural supporting members and fireproofing of such structures
* For assigned units, coordinate TAR inspections, PRD testing, inspection, and repair, leak testing, and TAR contract initiated IR's. Field check IR's and findings from internal inspections. Ensure all TAR inspections and IRs are properly documented and incorporated into PCMS, adjusting future IWPs and schedules as findings indicate
* Participate in and support Damage Mechanism Assessments (DMA), Process Hazard
* Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC) and TAR planning for assigned units
* Participate in all aspects of miscellaneous reliability, project and maintenance work as necessary to meet the needs of the Maintenance / Engineering Department
The person selected must be self-motivated with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and successfully complete and pass a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE).
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. A clean MVR is required.
