Job Schedule: Part Time Standard Hours: 24 Job Shift: Shift 1 Shift Details: 3 7a-330p shifts every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The Emergency Department at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital offers emergency services to people of all ages for any medical, surgical, or behavioral health need that may arise. Our unit is comprised of 35 beds, including a FastTrack area, Crisis Intervention for Acute Behavioral Health Emergencies, and specialized Critical Care resuscitation rooms.

Our multi-disciplinary team includes Registered Nurses, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Patient Care Technicians and an ancillary support staff, all of whom work together in a supportive environment to ensure we have a safe and skillful emergency department for our staff members and patients. We strive to work with the utmost efficiently and professionalism while at the same time providing the highest levels of personalized, compassionate care and satisfaction for our community and surrounding areas.

Job Summary

Unit Secretaries have diversified clerical responsibilities in one or more patient care business units. Duties include but are not limited to

Obtain and record demographic data to register patients or admission or services

Ensure appropriate documentation is gathered for medical records and billing purposes

Coordinate various scheduling activities for the business unit

Effective customer service and public relations

Protection of the patient and information confidentiality

Qualifications

One or more years administrative support experience in a healthcare environment

Strong communication and customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work

An understanding of healthcare insurance and medical terminology

Computer proficiency with a variety of systems and applications
