Job Description:
Verifies patient identification, and updates electronic health record with patients name, date of birth and chief complaint. - Performs and coordinates administrative and clerical support functions to facilitate delivery of effective and efficient patient care on the unit/department. - Fulfills duties of a PBX operator after hours. Relays and expedites incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls for the department and hospital. Functions as the communication center for security, team leaders, supervisors, physicians, and plays a key role in emergency response communications. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity. - Continuous: stooping/bending; reaching above, at, and below shoulder level. - Frequent: lifting and carrying weight up to 15 pounds, standing, sitting. - Occasional: walking, lifting usual weight up to 50 pounds.
