Responsibilities

The Unit Secretary is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care and assists with departmental organizational activities with the leaders of the Physical Therapy Director, House Supervisor or Charge RN. Assists in the coordination of Physical Therapy activities occurring on patient care unit(s) by effectively performing clerical, receptionist and communication duties. Assists in maintaining a safe and organized environment of the patient care unit(s).

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for all new hires, effective April 2014.

2. Medical terminology preferred.

3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.

4. Previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.

5. Experience using computers for word processing, database management preferred
