The MPG Plant Leader works full time at the Michigan Proving Grounds (MPG) in Romeo (Department T630). The plant leader is responsible for providing leadership and balancing work assignments for all off-shift MPG facility and operations units. The plant leader will be responsible for day shift to off shift communication and coordination of resources and assignments. They will be expected to work with local employees (represented and non-represented Ford personnel, as well as non-Ford personnel) and communicate with engineering, management, operations, ground maintenance and skilled trades. This position is for a crew pattern shift and requires a flexible working schedule.

The MPG Plant Leader works full time at the Michigan Proving Grounds (MPG) in Romeo (Department T630). The plant leader is responsible for providing leadership and balancing work assignments for all off-shift MPG facility and operations units.
What you'll do...
Responsibilities for Candidates may vary and include but are not limited to:
* Supervise Ford Salaried, Purchased Service, Hourly UAW, and Salaried UAW employees.
* Provide leadership and balance work assignments for all off-shift MPG facility and operation units including: Ground Maintenance, Skilled Trades, Safety, Security, Garage, Climate Control, Dynamometer, AVO, Drivers, Instrumentation, VLC's.
* Prepare daily test status reports to senior management and Functional / Attribute customers
* Mileage or cycle accumulation per vehicle
* Vehicle issue resolution to resume testing
* Maintain daily attendance records for the off-shift personnel
* Prepare daily, weekly, monthly operational metrics to senior management
* Resource throughput (cycles/hour, miles/hour, events/hour)
* MPG Event Histograms (average velocity through an event, slalom count/event, etc.)
* Efficiently Schedule Testing
* Understand employee skill sets
* Understand test procedure timing, weather and track requirements
* Make trade-offs between programs and testing to optimize throughput
* Maintain a broad knowledge of tests performed at MPG
* Ensure Unit Safety
* Proper PPE Usage
* Safety and housekeeping walk through
* Identify facility safety issues for resolution
* Prepare weekly GRASP reports for management
* Oversee one off tests to ensure proper safety protocol is followed
* Determine and request justified overtime
* Schedule personnel to work overtime as necessary
* Support the development of Global Test Procedures
* Training
* Maintain unit training records
* Identify training needs within the units and develop plans
