Universal Grinder - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OhioSet-up and operate ID and OD universal and surface grinding equipment (conventional and CNC) to generate finish dimensions on a variety of complex production and tooling parts. Assistance may be given by other operators on proper operational procedures. Perform housekeeping and other job related duties as assigned by foreman.What we offer:Payrate: $38.26/hourShift Premiums: 2nd/3rd shift = $1.00/hour.Unionized facility with 180-day probationary period.401k Company Match.Time Off:Five (5) unpaid sick days offered date of hire.Three (3) paid sick days offered after 180-day of employment.Two (2) weeks' paid vacation offered after eight months of employment (prorated).Eleven (11) paid holidays after 90 days of employment.Active employee life insurance with supplemental opportunities.Relocation can be available if candidate qualifies per company policy.Safety glasses and boot reimbursements offered.Responsibilities:Set-up and operate universal and surface grinders to perform difficult, close tolerance, semi-finish and finish grinding operations on a wide variety of production hardware, tools, jogs, fixtures, gages, and forming-die parts.Select, install and dress wheels and complete all changes in set-ups with a minimum of blue prints and the use of mathematical calculations.Develop NC programs during set-ups utilizing G & M codes.Apply expert knowledge of precision grinding practices to grind internal, external, straight form and tapered surfaces to extremely close tolerances and high degree of finish.Read and interpret complex blueprints to determine locations, sizes and finish.Exercise a high degree of attentiveness to devise set-up, dress correct forms and angles into wheels and to complete work details to tool design specifications.Use various types of precision measuring devices including comparators and electronic gages to inspect work.Must have the ability to work an off shift of 3:00pm-11:00pm or 11:00pm-7:00am.Minimum Qualifications:Two (2) years of experience in set-up and operation of manual and CNC internal/external universal grinders; completion of an accredited training program will be considered.High school diploma or GED equivalency.If necessary, be able to demonstrate ability to perform above skills on a test piece.Ability to demonstrate CNC control abilities; including editing speeds, feeds, tool offsets and fixture offsets.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, procedures, and work instructions.Ability to use various measuring instruments including: dial bore gages, indicator snap gages, verniers, and .0001 micrometers.Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation.Ability to develop NC programs during set-up utilizing G and M codes.Possess the knowledge and ability to use multi-axis grinding contouring as well as grinding wheel dressing and grit/size selection, to ensure that tight tolerances meet blueprints.As a federal government contractor, BWX Technologies, Inc. complies with all federal, state, and local laws and customer requirements regarding health and safety protocols.
