Job Description:Primary Function: Responsible for the overall aesthetics of the campus and university facilities; develops long-range facilities master plan; plans and develops capital projects; leads the selection process of design professionals for capital projects; coordinates the approval of capital projects through the internal and external committees of the university, the Board of Regents, and State of Iowa; provides direction and leadership to design personnel; oversees and administers space assignments; and provides the basic design skills and knowledge of the physical, visual, and legal requirements related to design and construction of buildings.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in architecture; at least seven years of experience in general architecture; professional registration as an architect in the state of Iowa or ability to obtain licensure within six months; experience in budget management and capital project planning; experience with sustainable and accessible design and construction standards; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; and excellent oral and written communication skills required.
