Job DetailsJob LocationCorporate - Aurora, NYPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$19.00 - $21.00 HourlyJob ShiftDayDescriptionThe Upholstery Associate is charged with making, repairing or replacing upholstery for Aurora Holding products. The Upholstery Associate will also receive customer orders, work on customer repairs, as well as create inventory for the annual Barn Sale.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)Ability to cut fabrics consisting of all materials, make swatches, as well as sew patternsUpholster tuffets, setting seats, benches and dining chairsMake pillows and cushions, as well as add trims to furnitureAbility to lift bolts of fabric and move furniture as neededBasic maintenance of sewing machine and department equipmentAbility to use power tools on a consistent basisConduct Inventory Analysis of DepartmentCreate inventory for Barn SaleReceive customer orders as well as work on customer repairsAnswer phone calls in a timely fashionCross-train in other departmentsSupervisory Responsibilities:This position does not have any supervisory duties.QualificationsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or GEDOne to three years of upholstery experience is desiredSpecial Requirements:Ability to work shift work and overtime on a regular basis.Location: Aurora, NYKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.Attention to detail.Requires organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.The employee must understand the proper way to deal with external expectations.Equipment Used:Computer, printer, photocopier, pallet jack, forklift, and various hand and power toolsComputer Software: Microsoft Outlook,Safety Equipment: Safety ShoesPhysical and Mental Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.Environmental Conditions:Work is performed in a typical office environment where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.MacKenzie-Childs is an EEO employer and dedicated to fair hiring practices.Minimum Salary: 19.00 Maximum Salary: 21.00 Salary Unit: Hourly
