Urban Forestry Landscape Worker

The City of McMinnville is looking for a hardworking person to fill the position of Landscape Worker in our Urban Forestry department. This position is to execute the care and maintenance of the trees and landscaped areas in the City of McMinnville. The position is responsible for maintenance of equipment and daily coordination of workload while performing other work as required. Employees in this class are under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties are normal for this job. These are not construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• The employee will use a variety of hand tools, vehicles, and small to large machinery such as weed trimmers, chain saw, tank sprayer, and potentially large grass mowers, skid steer, track loader, front-end loader, and backhoe.
• The employee will be required to lift, carry, dig, climb, bend and move moderately to very heavy objects.
• The employee may be exposed to all types of weather conditions and loud noises.
• The employee will work on all city property and public sites in the area.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• High School degree
• Two (2) - three (3) years of experience in tree, landscape and lawn maintenance with knowledge of the use of landscape pesticides
• Possession of a valid operator's license
• Physically able to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
