AtkinsRéalis is looking for an Eastern Division - Urban Mobility Project Director that specializes in technical delivery and oversight, client advisory services, commercial and contract management, and business development for our national Rail & Transit practice with experience in delivery of urban transit modes such as Modern Streetcar and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Under general direction, will take a leading role in strategy, business development, and service delivery within this area of specialization. Geographic scope of responsibility is primarily in the eastern U.S., but with further support and/or leading in other parts of the U.S. as opportunities arise. May function as lead designer or technical consultant. AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy.How will you contribute to the team?INTERNAL STAFF ADMINISTRATION: Assists management team in identifying staffing needs based on future workload and workforce projections for project staffing. Reviews managers' recommendations to recruit, hire, transfer, or terminate project staff; approves/disapproves or endorses recommendations and presents to senior management for approval as required by established authorization guidelines. Conducts semi-annual performance reviews and annual career planning sessions with management staff within assigned project. Provides staff with ongoing performance feedback and counsel to promote improved performance and career development.PROJECT PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT: Assists project staff in developing work plans; reviews and approves schedules, budgets, project milestone dates, and work products. Oversees financial performance of projects; assists project staff in identifying potential problems to ensure remedial actions are promptly taken to avoid financial losses and client dissatisfaction.MARKETING AND CLIENT MAINTENANCE: Responsible for maintaining positive client relations with existing clients and building new relationships with others. Serves as the single point of contact to the client and acts as a liaison between management and clients on advanced program related issues.CONTRACTS AND FINANCIAL: Conducts contract negotiations with clients and sub-consultants. Develops and recommends operational budgets for approval by senior management. Monitors monthly performance against budget to ensure project profitability.Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.What will you contribute?Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or Urban/City Planning or related field. Graduate degree is preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is required or ability to obtain reciprocity within one year of assuming this position.This level may be achieved by technical professionals or managers with fifteen years of experience since BA/BS or fourteen years since MA/MS., with at least two of these years in the Senior Project Manager position with complex project management responsibility.Experience in project development of urban transit, with a focus on BRT, is required.Experience working with the FTA's Capital Investment Grants (CIG) Program is preferred.What we offer at AtkinsRéalis:AtkinsRéalis realizes that health, mental and financial wellbeing are all equally needed to achieve balance in life.
