Responsibilities Nurse Practitioner This position reports to the Medical Director of the Department of Urgent Care and works under a collaborative agreement with an assigned Urgent Care Provider working in Garnet Health Doctors. The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner will triage and assess patients presenting for acute evaluation and treatment in the office and ambulatory settings, including walk-in patients without appointments providing care including but not limited to broken bones and lacerations. Provides consultation services and takes appropriate history & physicals and assumes a leadership role with multidisciplinary treatment team members. Oversees clinical care of patients assigned to team; ensures appropriate documentation of care. Is a partner in an interdisciplinary team of urgent and primary care givers, specialty providers and administrative support staff to perform assigned duties while displaying the highest of standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Garnet Health Doctors, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $105,352 through $121,837 annually. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Minimum Education: • Masters in Nursing required. • Post Masters Certificate - Family Nurse Practitioner required. • Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred. Minimum Experience: • Minimum of 1 year post-Master's degree in an Emergency Room or Urgent Care setting with emphasis on care of patients with a wide range of acute illness, preferred. Required Certification/Registration: • NYS Nurse Practitioner License – Family required. • BLS, ACLS & PALS Certification required. • DEA Certification, valid and unrestricted required. • Board Certification in Family Nursing as a practitioner (general or specialized) from the ANCC or the AANP within one year of hire required. • Current Opioid Prescriber Training Certificate required. • Current Infectious Certificate required. Physical Requirements: • Mobility required. • Occasional lifts (up to 35 lbs), positions, restrains, pushes and/or transfers patients. Working Conditions: • Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. Frequent contact with various Garnet Health staff, sales representatives, employees and community members. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity. • Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and push over 75 lbs. Registration required. • Successful completion and maintenance of National Commission on Certification of PA's required • BLS, ACLS & PALS Certification required. • Current Opioid Prescriber Training Certificate required. • Current Infectious Certificate required.
