Description
Under clinical supervision of Clinical Leadership, provides health care support in Urgent Care. This position covers the weekend and can be 24-36 hours.
Duties
* Assists in registration of patients, EHR data entry, and answering incoming calls as needed.
* Assists clinic health care providers in providing direct patient care, by rooming patients, patient history, and reason for seeking for care. Maintains strict confidentiality. Assists with Telehealth appointments.
* Gathers necessary vital signs from patients and completes entry in EHR for physician's review and entry into patient's chart. Other duties may include: drawing blood, if necessary, basic wound care, and dressing changes, removing sutures and staples, electrocardiograms, and ear lavage.
* Must recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols, perform basic triage elements per specific office protocol procedures, document work processes as required.
* Correctly collects, prepares, and send laboratory specimens for routine tests and performs POC in house tests as ordered. Records results under direct supervision of the provider.
* Maintains supply stock in exam rooms, lab areas, and communicates usage so supplies can be reordered. Daily checks stock for expiring items.
* Enters patient medication/vaccine details into EHR as needed. (Does NOT administer).
* Cleans examination tables between patients and at close of business day.
* Adheres to North Country HealthCare work practices in the Occupational Exposure Plan Policy, MSDS, and safety plan.
Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED
* 5 Years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* BLS certification
Compensation
Starting at $20.58/hr+ DOE
