**US Broker Dealer Controller / Deputy CFO (C15)**

Citigroup New York , NY 10176 The Finance Acctg Sr Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Supports the management and control data flows to and within Finance applications to ensure integrity and completeness of data, including by preparing and recording financial transactions for legal vehicle and regulatory reporting purposes, updating the general ledger, recording financial transactions, and preparing of consolidated financial statements, in accordance with management reporting requirements, for legal vehicle & regulatory purposes. Also, includes specialized accounting, such as equity compensation, securitization, payroll and investment accounting.

+ Directs and controls strategy and execution of the companys activities within a major Infrastructure area.

+ Recommends objectives, policies, and plans for this area with the most senior executives of the company.

+ Partners with the revenue areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and / or control.

+ Typically a key member of the companys management team who represents the company in dealings with clients and external bodies.

+ Through management team, manages all staff within the relevant Infrastructure area.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

**Qualifications:**

+ 15+ years of relevant experience

**Education:**

+ Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred and managerial experience

The ICG and CGMI Controller group is responsible for the integrity and control of the financial books and records for Institutional Clients Group, including NAM ICG and CGMI, as well as the process by which reports are generated. This includes corporate/regulatory reporting, management reporting and balance sheet integrity. The Controllers roles include embedding consistent controls and unifying all aspects of financial reporting. The Broker Dealer Regulatory Reporting Department is responsible for ensuring that the US registered broker dealers ( comply with the rules that require them to maintain sufficient liquid ( assets to satisfy their capital requirements ( and for the safeguarding of customer funds and fully paid securities held by the broker dealer. The primary entity that is subject to these rules is Citigroup Global Markets Inc CGMI. The Regulatory Reporting Department works closely with other departments, most notably; Treasury, Accounting Policy, Operations, Controllers, Legal, Compliance and Trading on issues such as new products, new regulatory requirements, capital management, books and records and liquidity issues.

**US Broker Dealer Controller/Deputy CFO**

This position is a member of the CGMI/ICG Controllers Senior management team, and has a direct responsibility and accountability of the monthly and quarterly Financial and Regulatory reports for US Broker Dealers (CGMI, CDMI, CSSI, CPA), supporting senior management within Finance by providing selective financial/business analysis, insights and decision support coordinating with Finance team for Business that are performed on the US Broker Dealers. This newly created position will leverage the business finance teams in the US to provide an oversight to the US Broker Dealers.

The US Broker Dealer Controller/Deputy CFO is a senior management level position responsible to provide regulatory analysis and reporting in coordination with the Finance team. Additionally, this position will develop reporting and control procedures to accurately prepare information required for financial reporting and analysis. The overall objective of this role is to ensure Legal Entity financials are prepared and delivered in a timely and accurate manner and finance regulatory requirements are met for these entities.

**Responsibilities:**

Management and oversight of US Broker Dealers Financials and regulatory reporting obligations.

Oversight of the control framework across legal entities ensuring implementation of standard controls and monitoring processes.

Oversight and management of the implementation of new regulatory requirements for the entities

Play an integral part in designing, executing, and enhancing monthly and quarterly review and close procedures to ensure consistent and accurate information is provided to all stakeholders.

Ensure U.S. Broker Dealer entities are in full compliance with the Legal Entity Standards Policy

Manage relationship with external and internal auditors and accounting policy.

Active communication and liaison with Regional Controllers Team on Finance initiatives and strategy.

Utilize comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within Finance and how they interact in order to achieve the goals of the Finance department
