Position Overview: Our client is the Commercial Real Estate Finance group within the investment bank of a premier European-based global financial services institution located in New York City. Their real estate group is consistently ranked among the top 10 global and US real estate lenders, and they consistently look to grow their platform and expand into new products. About the Equity Derivatives Department: The Equity Derivatives business provides derivatives, structured products, and strategic investments for clients worldwide. The team works with a range of clients and is a recognized global leader in constructing structured solutions, for both sides of the balance sheet. Temporary role This position is a 3-6-month contract position. Overall purpose of role: The role is for a business manager, based in New York to support the Equity Derivatives US business. The Business Management function provides strategic, analytical, governance and administrative support to the Equity Derivatives business. It involves working on the trading floor and building strong relationships across desks and functions to support senior management in implementing strategic initiatives, global best practices, improved efficiency, and reduction in costs, streamlining business processes, and supporting the delivery of technology with agility to support all investment strategies. It involves constant liaison with, and often provides the link between, Trading and IT, Product Control, Risk Control, Operations, Legal and Compliance, as well as working closely with Sales & Trading. As such, it is key to the smooth and efficient running of the business and touches the firm in most areas and at all levels. Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the day-to-day activities of the Equity Derivatives business across Sales, Structuring & Trading as well as delivering change in-line with regulation/changing market environment.
  • Business planning and monitoring support e.g. KPIs/Benchmarks, Revenue & Cost budgets & tracking, cost reduction initiatives, etc.
  • Support the Equities business in further developing revenue, profitability, efficiency, and client franchise. Work with product teams and the broader BM team on business development initiatives including New Product approvals (NAPA), Payoff change requests.
  • Lead the global front-to-back implementation of strategic business build-out, partnering with infrastructure teams to drive business process change in the most effective manner and ensuring that we make best use of available resources as well as improving Client and Sales experience in the transaction cycle
  • Be one of the Equities business face-off with Legal, Risk, Operations, HR, PCG, Audit, Compliance, CCO, and ORM teams, ensuring we operate an effective control environment for the Equities business.
  • Analyse performance and generate presentations for senior management, regulators and other third parties.
  • Represent the business in meetings ensuring that you understand the detailed requirements to adequately meet the business needs
  • Build relationships by communicating, influencing, and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, team members, technical experts, and infrastructure partners
  • Review and understand all aspects of business performance including revenue, brokerage, cost base, balance sheet, financial resources, and risk
  • Provide support to Equities management in preparation for supervisory reviews, desk procedures, etc.
  • Linking with desks and products to plan, manage and forecast business performance
  • Promote and implement global and regional best practice in terms of systems, trade flow and support
  • Ensure operational risk events caused by the business are escalated and documented as required. Review and challenge operational risk events that impact the business to confirm resulting actions are appropriate. Contribute to action point closure from operational risk events, RCSAs and Conflict of Interest Review
  • Ensure close connectivity and coordination with the Global Equities & Markets Business Management teams, allowing for co-ordination across joint initiatives
Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of operational flows and process.
  • Good Presentation Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Equity Derivatives experience is preferred
  • Project management experience and ability to coordinate inputs and opinions from different sources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with the highest-level contacts within the organization
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize & multitask
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment

The annual full time base salary range for this role is $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies.
