Job Description:
Position Summary:This position is responsible for driving a forklift to transport engines, parts and subunits to various warehouses for storage or departments as requested.Level of Authority:This position performs routine duties independentlyin accordance with established policies and procedures. Work Environment:Most of the work is performed in an industrial environment. The employee usually works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work area is normally moderate to loud; however may reach extremely loud levels while performing certain duties or operating equipment. This position is required to wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes. Participation in the Hearing Conservation program is requiredEssential Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the dissemination of parts to the various warehouses.
  • Responsible for putting away all outside parts.
  • Responsible for warehousing cast items.
  • Makes sure all parts are properly labeled before leaving the area.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.
  • Follows all departmental procedures and policies. Recommends changes to procedure for supervisor approval.
Qualifications and Capabilities:Technical
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years prior mechanical experience, preferably working with tractors.
  • Ability to correctly identify various makes and models of engines.
  • Ability to obtain and keep forklift certification.
  • Diagnostic and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop, reach, and exert 50-100 pounds of force (Level 4 - Heavy Work).
  • Ability to stand and walk as required throughout the day.
  • Ability to mount and dismount an industrial forklift.
  • Ability to see details at close range and at a distance.
  • Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity sufficient to manipulate hand tools and powered equipment.
Other
  • Effective communication/comprehension skills-verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exhibit good judgment and adaptable to different situations.
  • Must be punctual-in work area ready to work on time.

Use of Tools:
  • Standard use of office equipment. Ability to use powered equipment, and hand tools; including forklift, hoist or heavy equipment.
