Do you have administrative experience and experience as a dispatcher? We have the ideal opportunity for you In this role you will operate a variety of communication equipment including two-way radios, pagers, cell phones, and personal computers in order to receive, prioritize, schedule and dispatch emergency and non-emergency Utility calls for service. In addition, this role coordinates with internal and external agencies, vendors, and equipment for field crews. Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 8am-5pm and Saturday, 7am-4pm What Would You Do? Receives and prioritizes emergency requests for information or assistance by operating radio consoles, telephones, and computers. Responds to public inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner; resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner. Locates the area of emergency on GIS map; routes calls to the appropriate crew. Enters and accesses information relating to the incidents in Cityworks, SAP, and GIS or current Work Management System. Operates computers to research past history of location and relays to the crew on site. Monitors building security equipment. Updates dispatch log with pertinent information. Monitoring multiple radio channels at one time. Work alone during staffing schedule shortages. Must be able to work during manmade or natural disasters. Must interact and collaborate effectively with a variety of team members. What Do You Need To Have? Experience - professional experience as a dispatcher, skilled utility worker or customer service representative. High school diploma and 3 years of experience as described above; or Associate degree in a related field and 1 year of experience as described above; or Bachelor's degree within a related field and some experience as described above. Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver's License upon hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report. Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. Highly Desirable Experience in receiving and prioritizing work requests for information or assistance by operating a two-way radio, telephone, and computer. Knowledge of Cityworks, SAP, and GIS.
