Job Description
The Utilities Maintenance Technician, under general supervision, performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on buildings and plant equipment and machinery as directed. Performs highly skilled maintenance on industrial mechanical systems and executes work assignments safely and efficiently in such a manner as to restore or improve the reliability of the equipment being maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and repair on various types of heavy equipment such as gas turbines, turbine/generators, industrial boilers, chillers, and all associated equipment
* Assists in diagnosing malfunctions through root cause analysis and performs repairs
* Updates work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS utilizing a mobile device.
* Helps determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs and projects.
* Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs, and diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, electronic signaling systems, and similar plant and specialty equipment items
* Assists in making decisions on all repairs and reports major problems to the Senior Maintenance Supervisor and Utilities Manager.
* Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power & hand tools and other necessary equipment.
* Reviews outside vendor projects and makes punch lists.
* Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems and electro/mechanical problems related to utilities.
* Supports project management activity as needed.
* Responds to emergency problems in the facility and makes emergency repairs as needed.
* Maintains logs, performs rounds, and completes P.M. work orders, tests, and inspections.
* Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
* Maintains shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner.
* Will participate with on-call duties for evenings, weekends and special events.
* Acts as service responders during emergencies, weather, and catastrophic events.

Minimum Requirements
Education - High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience - Three years of related experience.
Ability to - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Licensing / Professional Certification - Valid Texas Class C driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Physical Requirements - Requires some heavy lifting. Subject to yearly Motor Vehicle Record/driver license checks
