Position Summary: The maintenance technician, utilities will maintain facilities, production supporting equipment/systems and quality, in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment, ensuring mechanical equipment/systems and production operate efficiently. Job Responsibilities:
- Independently perform repairs/maintenance of facilities, utilities, and production supporting equipment, while following Standard Operating Procedures
- Adhere to Preventive Maintenance schedules on facilities and production supporting equipment, performing the work within/around production schedules
- Troubleshoot equipment/system failures, and performing repairs as needed
- Request parts and components for repairs as needed
- Ensure critical spare parts are stocked as needed
- Review and revise relevant equipment/systems maintenance documentation
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and applicable guidelines
- Support technical, engineering, and manufacturing departments to meet customer needs and business goals
- Proper documentation of all Preventive Maintenance and repairs, by ensuring that entries are complete, accurate and legible
- Proper documentation of any deviations from written procedures, utilizing the appropriate reporting systems
- Train others as required
- Complete Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) training within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter
- Have a fully understanding and practice of 5s pillars
- Be able to perform critical thinking when performing a repair
- Follow safety procedure and be familiar with LOTO devices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and understand schematic drawings and P&ID's
- Proficient and confident using a multi-meter for circuitry testing and troubleshooting
- Proficient and confident using hand and/or power tools
- Able to climb a 12 footstep or extension ladder, and work comfortably from ladder or scissor lift
- Good computer skills
- Must be flexible to work any shift and overtime, including weekends
- Must be available (on call) 24/7 for emergency situations
- Perform industrial electrical installations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma is required, associate degree preferred. Degree can be waived for equivalent experience Industrial Maintenance and or Utilities Maintenance
- Knowledge and experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC's) and/or Distributed Control Systems is desirable
- Trade certification or equivalent experience in Industrial Electrical, Refrigeration, Boiler Operation, or other pertinent craft is desirable
- Desired familiarity with air particulate monitoring systems, WFI and domestic water systems, HVAC equipment and systems, compressors, air/gas supply and distribution, plant and clean steam generation and distribution, refrigeration equipment, vacuum systems, and waste collection/discharge systems, etc
- Understanding of cGMP is desirable
