Job Type Full-time Exemption Type Exempt Location CINCINNATI, OH - Cincinnati, OH 45249 US Dayton, OH US OH US (Primary) Category Industry Professional Travel 50% Job Description ORC is seeking a full-time, exempt Right of Way Agent to work on projects based out of Western Ohio. The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely from their home office but must reside within a 50-mile radius of Cincinnati, OH or Dayton, OH and be able to report to the Cincinnati, OH office as needed. Agent should expect to hit the road daily, traveling locally or throughout the state based on project requirements. What you will be doing: As a Right of Way Agent, you will lead the team in acquiring easements for both electric and natural gas infrastructure projects across Ohio. Candidate will conduct advanced right of way negotiations with high-risk landowners. You will be responsible for settling damages, preparing real estate documents, performing property research, ensuring compliance with company standards, acquisition of easements, purchase contracts, and options, providing construction support, and other duties as assigned. Candidate will work alongside the Project Manager (PM), our amazing clients, and other members of the project team to ensure their projects are executed seamlessly, from start to finish. Candidate will mentor and have other team members shadow you to better understand the right of way process. Candidate will perform general administrative / clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing legal documents, reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents for file management, verbal and written communications with customers, customer service and related functions. Here are the minimum requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Right of Way acquisition experience
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements: English language proficient. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. Able to make quick decisions, present to staff and clients, have difficult conversations and supervise staff. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to travel regularly to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
