State Classified Hourly No Overtime EligibleDescription of Work Unit The Utility Services work unit exists to provide, manage, operate, and maintain utility service for the University. Utilities managed by this work unit include: electric, domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm water, natural gas, steam, chilled water, and distributed heating and cooling generation. Unit activities also include master planning for utilities, design review, utility construction inspection, customer allocation, forecasting, billing, support through relevant expertise of other Facilities Management work units, and liaison with utility providers.Position Summary This position assists in purchased utility budget development, billing allocation, billing schedules, and bill tracking for all university customers. This position also processes customer and accounting needs for the de-ionized water program, and analyzes utility bill consumption information to uncover anomalies in building operation.Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:

Essential Job Duties Job Duty Category Utility Budget Allocations and Billing Program Duty/Responsibility Assist in the development of purchased utility budget forecasts. Follow processes established by supervisor to accurately track and update purchased utility budgets and billing during the fiscal year. Utilize established forecasting tools to calculate the utility billing allocation for all University departments, agencies, and auxiliaries. Review billing from external utility providers for accuracy and report any errors. Maintain commodity use tracking software and databases.Percentage Of Time 50% Job Duty Category De-Ionized Water Program Duty/Responsibility Track de-ionized water program and coordinate services to customers. Monitor response times and replacement of consumable products with the service company. Assist in communication of changing and special customer needs to the service company and assist in education of customers on availability and limits of service. - Monitor utility consumption data trends and changes in building operation and coordinate with engineering staff to identify potential issues.
