Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Utility/Cleaner position will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and general upkeep of the multifamily residential buildings located in the Buffalo Metropolitan area. Utility/Cleaner Duties Include:
- Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.)
- Cleaning assigned work areas inside and outside of the property.
- Perform trash/refuse duties; to include but not limited to picking up trash around grounds and take in/out trash totes on a daily basis.
- Performing basic landscaping duties including picking up grounds and watering of plants.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment.
- Conducting basic repairs (i.e. replacing light bulbs, replacing outlet faceplates, etc.) on maintenance equipment.
- Taking verbal and written instructions from maintenance supervisors and other management.
- Ensuring the safe handling and storage of volatile cleaning liquids and other chemicals.
- Ensuring that utility projects have been completed and signed off.
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
- Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
Utility/Cleaner Qualifications
- GED or High School equivalent required.
- At least two years of cleaning experience and general knowledge in general maintenance or residential maintenance fields.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- General knowledge of all health and safety regulations.
