Union LocalUA 855SummaryConstruction/Laborer employees are members of the Gas Distribution department. The work includes constructing, operating, maintaining and repairing gas facilities. The use of jackhammer, tamping, and digging equipment is essential to this job. This is a Safety Sensitive Position - D.O.T. testing is required. Safe driving record required.Must obtain a Class A Driver's License within one year from date of hire.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesYears of ExperienceJob QualificationsRequired:Must have a high school diploma or GED.Minimum 3 months construction, manufacturing, mechanical or related work experience.Must be physically able to perform heavy construction work.Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather.Must successfully pass the Gas Battery preplacement test before hire.Must successfully complete required training after hire.Position is considered DOT safety sensitive and is subject to random drug testing.Physical Requirements of JobPhysical requirements: Walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 100 lbs. Driving RequirementsDriving requirement: Must have a valid U. S. driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record. CDL requirement: CDL Class A is required within one year of employment.Storm duty requirement: As needed.Desirable:Outside construction work experience.Mechanical aptitude.
