Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) seeks an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead our Johnson/Richford district in Vermont. This key leadership role manages vital electric distribution operations across this rural district. The position combines technical expertise with strong leadership abilities to maintain our high-performance culture.The Operations Supervisor coordinates daily activities of line crews while managing complex project management responsibilities. You will oversee capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards. This role requires expertise in electric utility operations and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and various stakeholders.Your project management skills will be essential in coordinating resources, scheduling work crews, and maintaining budgetary oversight. The position demands strong decision-making abilities in managing both routine maintenance and emergency response situations. You will work closely with Cooperative members to resolve service issues and maintain our commitment to reliability.The ideal candidate brings substantial electric utility experience with a focus on line operations and supervision. Knowledge of NESC and NEC codes is crucial. Your leadership style should emphasize employee development, safety awareness, and operational excellence. Experience with utility software systems and project management methodologies will position you for success.This on-site position requires travel within our service territory and serves an important role in emergency outage operations. The annual salary range is $120,000-$127,500, commensurate with experience and qualifications.Because of the specialized nature of Line operations, especially in Vermont, priority consideration will be given to candidates with Line Worker experience who demonstrate a strong capacity for project management and supervision.This position requires a criminal background check.
