The Utility Porter is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive cleanliness and presentation of Lakeside Hotel Casino using various types of equipment, materials, and techniques.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS INCLUDE (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
  • Operating heavy cleaning equipment such as a floor buffer, extractor, wet vacuum, steamer, power-washer, or shampooer.
  • Properly clean upholstered fabrics and draperies as assigned.
  • Floor stripping, sealing, finishing, and or polishing.
  • Shampoo, scrub, and vacuum carpet, tile, and floors.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
  • High dusting walls, ceilings, windows, and furniture.
  • Clean high and low areas, such as windows and light fixtures, which may involve using a ladder.
  • Clean hallways, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas.
  • Perform general maintenance of equipment such as floor/carpet machines.
  • Clean up biohazards according to proper procedures.
  • Transports equipment or tools to the workspace, which may require carrying and lifting heavy items as needed.
  • Requires the ability to work with chemicals and knowledge of cleaning chemicals and mixtures.
  • Requires understanding of sensitive materials such as marble, granite, and metal.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all floor care practices, know the different chemicals used for floor care, and the different machines used for floor care.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with leadership. Reports emergencies and maintenance needs to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with fellow Team Members, Guests, and Vendors.
  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting the Company Service Standards
  • Assists other areas as needed.
  • Maintain and understand compliance with federal, state local regulations.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English in all manners.
  • Must have knowledge of chemicals, MSD sheets, and personal protection equipment.
  • Must be able to handle heavy cleaning equipment such as a floor buffer, extractor, wet vacuum, steamer, power-washer, or shampooer.
  • Ability to work safely, including understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, safely completing work, and reporting unsafe conditions; this also includes being aware of hazardous conditions such as spills, wet areas, and debris and addressing them quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work with cleaning products, chemicals, and solvents using safety equipment provided by the company.
  • Must be able to perform assigned duties both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must understand and be capable of cleaning and disposing of biohazards.
  • Lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling,
  • Ability to be on a ladder for a prolonged period of time.
