General Summary: Performs janitorial duties inside and outside of the Home Office location in accordance with Goodwill policies and procedures. Performs field work training for Utility Workers. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.
- Consistently acts in a professional and pleasant manner when interacting with participants, vendors, customers and co-workers. Fully works in a safe manner and supports the Organization's Safety policies.
- Completes assigned janitorial and light maintenance duties with guidance from the Director of Facilities.
- Removal of all trash and recycling for the entire building. Filling of all hand towels, soap, toilet tissue and air freshener dispensers. Cleaning all common areas, hallways, conference rooms, reception area, employee lounge, Supported Employment area, Shop-goodwill area, offices and all vestibules. This includes the wiping down all tables, door handles and touch point, mopping and vacuuming of all carpeted floors. Performs a monthly VCT floor restore and burnish of the VCT floor tiles.
- Cleans all bathrooms including mirrors, counters, toilets, urinals and floors. Wipe and spot clean stalls and walls, wipe down all handles and touch points and emptying trash. Stocks all supplies for restrooms. Inspect all dispensers, revisit bathrooms throughout their shift to complete touch ups as needed.
- Cleans and disinfects all drinking fountains.
- Routinely dusts all window ledges in offices and common areas, cleaning of all fluorescent light shields, dusting off refrigerators and other assign duties.
- Maintains the supplies to the proper level on hand, ordering them if there is a need to purchase more.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs; replacing/tightening mechanical fasteners, touch up painting, replacement of lamps for light fixtures, replacing bathroom dispensers, hang pictures, install shelving, assemble/move office furniture and other miscellaneous task assigned by Director of Facilities.
- Assists Facility Technicians as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- High school diploma.
- Previous custodial, porter, maintenance experience, a plus.
- Ability to operate and maintain basic cleaning equipment with training including a floor scrubber, floor buffer, vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops and bucket.
- Able to operate small hand tools and power tools.
- Basic maintenance skills and is able to learn new skills.
