Salary: $16.74 - $21.04 Hourly Location : 87 Vincent Street, WI Job Type: Part Time Job Number: 0722UTILWORK2024 Department: Human Services Opening Date: 09/12/2024 Closing Date: 9/26/2024 4:30 PM Central Description Provide courier and support services to the staff of the Department of Human Services Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Courier services between agency sites including, but not limited to daily mail, bank deposits, file transfers and supply delivery
  • Provide support services to Agency staff including moving materials and equipment in the agency and between agency locations
  • Set up, sanitize and maintain cleanliness of meeting rooms and common areas throughout multiple agency buildings
  • Pickup and appropriately dispose confidential materials from agency locations
  • Move filing materials to storage facilities and assist in annual file purging
  • Assist with maintenance requests as needed in the agency
  • Assist in carrying, loading, unloading, assembling and distributing of incoming supplies and office equipment
  • Coordinate the maintenance, repair and cleanliness of all vehicles, completes an annual check of on board safety equipment, completes quarterly mileage reports, and maintains keys
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Typical Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Follow operating, safety, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to provide complete tasks i.e. transportation of equipment, files, and mail; maintenance and vehicle requests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Sensitivity to social problems, such as family disorganization, discrimination, disability, poverty, unemployment, etc. and the impact on the families.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills required with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Maintain flexibility to accommodate requests on short notice, to conform to and meet deadlines, amidst frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Maintain positive behaviors toward coworkers, teams, agency's consumers, their families, general public, and collateral agencies, with a focus on excellence in customer service.
  • Ability to act calmly in emergency situations and under pressure, while able to effectively address and resolve conflict and to manage stress in a professional manner.
  • Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Must have ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and concise records and reports.
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATION:
  • High School diploma
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between work locations
  • Experience using hand tools, material moving equipment and general maintenance equipment.
  • Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Access to a motor vehicle
  • A minimum of $250,000/$500,000 auto liability insurance coverage verified upon hire and at renewal by providing a copy of the declaration page of your policy from your insurance carrier.
