Job Description:
DescriptionThe Value Stream Manager is responsible for leading plant performance improvement through Lean production system design, effective problem solving techniques, the design and management of performance improvement initiatives, and the training and coaching of plant team members to accomplish the same in coordination with the plant leadership team. In order to achieve this, the incumbent will effectively communicate with plant management, the corporate Continuous Improvement group and coach frontline employees, supervisors and value stream operating managers in how to better incorporate performance improvement activities into their daily job performance through a philosophy and commitment to continuous improvement. This position reports to the Plant Manager and VP of Operations and has direct responsibility for Operations Foreman that are assigned to their value streams and the off-shift assigned to ensure production of quality products in an environment conducive to food safety requirements for the start-to-finish value stream cycle. In addition, the Value Stream Manager is responsible for positively impacting employee relations by exemplifying and maintaining consistent, fair and inclusive employment practices, legal and corporate compliance and behaviors reflective of the company's leadership profile.Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree desired, preferably in business or a manufacturing related field.Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, analytical, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
  • Broad manufacturing experience including 5 years' experience in management roles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Must have experience in leading lean and continuous improvement activities.
  • Independent judgment with analytical skills in formulating decisions concerning different problems with similar solutions.
  • Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen, creative thinking skills and be able to act as a decision maker.
  • Excellent leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrates results orientation.
  • Strong problem solving, lean thinking and statistical process control skills.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing is preferred.
