Are you mechanically inclined and looking to start a new career after military service? A leading supplier of relief valves and valve services is looking to bring on new valve technicians to work at one of several upper mid-west locations. Established in the 1950s, this company can be a great landing place after your military service.Valve Technicians go into clients' businesses to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair their valve systems, as well as complete assigned preventative maintenance.Candidates must have basic mechanical skills and be able to pass in-shop (OJT) training before performing field service work orders. A valid driver's license is required. Ideal candidates will have a 2-year technician degree or equivalent military experience and small engine repair experience. All valve technicians report daily to their home shop and dispatch to field service work from there. Travel for this role is on average 40% and valve technicians can expect 1-2 overnights per week. Company vehicle, travel card, and meal per diem are provided.Compensation for entry level candidates is competitive. With base pay, overtime, and performance bonuses, new technicians will make in the $70-$75k range. $500 sign on. Your base pay rate will be $25/hr. Once certified for field service work, you will make $27.50 per hour while performing field service work away from your home shop. Overtime is readily available during peak season and averages 10-20 hours per week and paid at 1.5x. Technicians are eligible for two annual performance bonuses.
