The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The incumbent will support the Equipment Room and its functions including but not limited to AV support for classes and events, equipment checkouts to students and faculty, support for broadcast technology including equipment and editing software. The incumbent will also assist in the operation of the school's broadcast studio facilities. Work with J-School administration to schedule equipment availability.
Responsibilities
Audio Visual Support:
* Responsible for scheduling, implementation and follow-up of all AV requests for classes.
* Supports and oversees AV needs in Lecture Hall, World Room and all classrooms including school related conferences and workshops.
* Provides support for faculty and students if they experience equipment problems.
* Help develop program to assist students with new technologies
* Troubleshoot technical issues and monitor auto tracking cameras
Equipment Room Support:
* Responsible for processing student and faculty equipment requests (i.e., lending and returning equipment).
* Maintain equipment inventory: ensure that equipment is in good working order and inventory records are complete. Ensure that malfunctioning equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
* Works directly with broadcast faculty and students in instruction on use of the equipment
* Supervises work- study students and casual employees working in Equipment Room.
Broadcast Technology Support:
* Assists in the maintenance and daily operations of the broadcast television studio and radio labs, ensuring that the studio is maintained and that the equipment functions properly.
* Assists the operation of the school's Video Newsroom program and other supported classroom programs.
* Edits/Produces video content in conjunction with J-School online learning initiatives.
* Assists students with editing projects through the use of Adobe Creative Suite including Audition, Premiere Pro, After Effects and other media post-production software.
* Assists in the planning and implementation of new solutions based on user requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or its equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience.
Other Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills needed. Must have a strong customer service orientation. Must have ability to work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced, and deadline driven work environment. Organizational skills a must. Must be able to work on evenings and weekends, and be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
