We follow many pathways to learning while sharing goals that unite us, a common core of knowledge, and a belief in biblical truths.Calvary Day School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic cheerleading program coordinator to lead our comprehensive cheerleading program, which includes Competition cheer, Football Sideline cheer, Basketball cheer/dance team, and Game Day cheer. This role is central to fostering school spirit, pride, and support for athletic teams while ensuring that the participants grow in alignment with our school's mission and core values. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of cheerleading, a passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes, and the ability to manage a diverse program that maintains a balance of competitiveness with personal and spiritual development.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop and oversee all aspects of the cheerleading program, including Competition, Football Sideline, Basketball Cheer/Dance team, and Game Day.Communicate effectively with the Director of Athletics, Coaches, Student-Athletes, Parents, and School Administration to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.Supervise, evaluate, and mentor assistant coaches and volunteer staff to ensure high-quality instruction and leadership within the program.Manage and oversee the cheerleading budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.Plan and conduct safe, effective, and engaging practices that develop skills, teamwork, and school spirit.Organize team building and bonding activities that foster a positive team culture and support athletes' personal growth.Maintain rigorous academic and attendance standards for participants, monitoring their school performance and supporting their academic success.Coordinate logistics for competitions, games, and special events, including transportation, uniforms, and equipment.Before Tryouts:Schedule and promote tryouts, ensuring clear communication of expectations, schedules, and requirements.Develop criteria for tryout evaluation that align with program goals and values.Summer Practice:Lead summer practices and conditioning sessions to prepare athletes for the upcoming season.Coordinate cheerleading camp attendance, ensuring a productive and enriching experience for participants.Manage uniform and practice gear needs in consultation with the Director of Athletics.Seasonal Responsibilities:Oversee game day preparations and performances for football and basketball seasons, ensuring dynamic and engaging routines.Coordinate competition cheerleading aspects, including choreography, practice, and competition attendance.Facilitate community engagement and school spirit initiatives, enhancing the visibility and impact of the cheerleading program.End of Year:Organize an end-of-year banquet to celebrate achievements, present awards, and recognize the contributions of cheerleading and staff.Conduct an inventory of uniforms and equipment, preparing for the following season.Qualifications:Proven experience in coaching cheerleading at a competitive level, with a strong understanding of cheerleading techniques, safety standards, and performance strategies.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.Commitment to the total development of student-athletes, including their spiritual, academic, social, and physical well-being.Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a positive and inclusive cheerleading program.Calvary Day School stands against racial, gender, and ethnic discrimination and affirms the intrinsic worth of every person because the Bible teaches that every individual is made in the image of God.
