Job SummarySan Marino High School is seeking an experienced and motivated Varsity Track & Field Coach to lead our program to success. The ideal candidate will inspire and mentor student-athletes, fostering a competitive, inclusive, and supportive environment that emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, and academic achievement. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the varsity track & field program, including practices, meets, and team events. Develop and implement training plans for sprints, distance, throws, jumps, and relays to enhance athletic performance. Cultivate a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among student-athletes. Work closely with assistant coaches to provide specialized instruction for all event areas. Coordinate schedules for practices, meets, and transportation in collaboration with the athletic director. Track and support student-athletes' academic progress and eligibility. Ensure compliance with school, league, and CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) rules and regulations. Maintain an inventory of track & field equipment and coordinate any necessary repairs or purchases.Requirements / QualificationsCover Letter, Resume, Three letters of recommendation Qualifications: * Proven experience as a track & field coach or athlete at the high school, collegiate, or professional level. * Comprehensive knowledge of training techniques, event-specific coaching strategies, and track & field regulations. * Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. * Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes of all skill levels. * CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). * Must pass a background check and meet district employment requirements. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience as a varsity track & field coach or head coach. * Expertise in multiple track & field event areas. * Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field. * Knowledge of CIF policies and postseason competition guidelines.
