The Department of Neurology and the Neurosciences Institute of the Albany Med Health System is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology to lead the Division of Vascular Neurology and the Comprehensive Stroke Center. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated vascular neurologists, neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, neurointensive care/stroke Advanced Practice Providers, and a 5-member neuroendovascular team available 24/7. The Comprehensive Stroke Center manages 2,800 stroke patients/year, performs 150-200 thrombectomies and admits 250 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage and more than 100 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage/ year. The position offers a unique opportunity for a mid-career vascular neurologist to develop and lead a busy academic Stroke service and CSC. The practice will include participation in cerebrovascular clinics, coverage of the inpatient service, providing education to the medical students, residents and vascular neurology fellows, as well as conducting research.

We have a 14- bed state-of-the-art stroke unit and a dedicated 15-bed Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit, run by 4 neurointensivists trained at Johns Hopkins, Yale and Emory.

The salary range $300-350K represents base salary for an Associate or Full Professor's appointment, who will also be Division Head, Director of the CSC and Vice-Chair of inpatient services. This salary range does not include the incentive bonus that is paid quarterly, which adds significantly to the total compensation.
