POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Nurse Practitioner, in addition to assigned clinical duties will be responsible for supervising and supporting the APP team. The Lead Nurse Practitioner schedule will be mutually agreed upon by the Lead APP and the Supervising Physician, or his/her designee, depending on the needs of the department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leads team members by demonstrating advanced knowledge of job responsibilities. Under the supervision of a physician, provides direct diagnostic, and preventive health care services to patients.
- Provides mentoring and evaluation of staff and assists with prioritizing workflow.
- Address any issues within the APP team in an appropriate and timely manner, including quality issues that need aligned with evidence based best practice.
- Creates and maintains APP schedules.
- Provide and coordinate new APP department onboarding and clinical training.
- Ensure APP team is fully compliant with Hospital and Division protocols, policies, and procedures for the care of the patients, including regulatory standards such as ORC, OAC, CMS, and JCAHO.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical and administrative staff for comprehensive patient care.
- Drives APP best practice within the national standards specific to specialty.
- Maintains professional standards of attendance, appearance, demeanor, and company values. Assumes responsibility and accountability of own actions, seeks out supervision as necessary.
- Development of programs or processes to enhance utilization of APPs in clinical practice.
- Utilize critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Serve as a mentor to promote effective teamwork through communication, cooporation, and collaboration.
- Perform other duties as mutually determined by the Professional and their supervising physician.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- License and Certification:
- State of Ohio Licensure-Nurse Practitioner
- Satte of Ohio Licensure-Registered Nurse
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- BLS Certified
- Eligible to obtain and/or maintain Certificate to Prescribe/DEA
- Years of Experience:
- 3 years working as an Nurse Practitioner

- Primarily inside in well-lighted, well-ventilated areas. High stress environment where exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious agents, unpleasant odors, limited space, dust and fumes,hazardous chemicals, radiation risk and loud noise may exist.
