Job Title: Vascular Tech - ContractLocation: NYC, NY 10016Duration: 2 MonthsHours: 37.5 hours per week (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)Job Summary: The Vascular Tech will perform basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform basic and advanced ultrasound scans as prescribed by established protocols.Review doctors' interpretations, patient files, and monitor patients.Assist in the performance of interventional procedures.Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and imaging techniques to optimize ultrasound image quality.Capture images onto PACS system and transfer them to physician workstations.Evaluate images to ensure the study is diagnostic prior to releasing patients.Prepare the exam room for procedures, ensuring all necessary inventory and stock are available before the radiologist's arrival.Participate in the performance and documentation of quality control, quality assurance, and improvement activities.Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment failures, document problems, and report associated downtime.Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment to comply with infection control and departmental protocols.Operate and care for testing equipment.Provide patient education related to specific ultrasound studies.Ensure the safety of patients and family members.Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, family members, and other employees.Perform other related duties as assigned.Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year experience performing ultrasounds (preferred).Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite.Strong communication skills and the ability to provide patient education.Infection Control certification.Education: Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program with clinical and didactic education.Language: Proficiency in English (spoken, read, and written).
