Job Title: Vascular Tech - ContractLocation: New York, NY 10016Hours Per Week: 37.5Shift: 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/weekJob Summary:The Vascular Tech performs both basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols. This role involves capturing high-quality diagnostic images, assisting in interventional procedures, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.Key Responsibilities:Perform basic and advanced ultrasound scans as per protocols.Review doctor's interpretations and patient files, while monitoring patients during the procedure.Assist in interventional procedures as needed.Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques to optimize ultrasound image quality.Capture images using the PACS system and transfer them to physician workstations.Evaluate images to ensure they are diagnostic before releasing the patient.Prepare exam rooms and ensure necessary inventory and equipment are ready for procedures.Participate in quality control and improvement activities, and report equipment failures.Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment to adhere to infection control protocols.Educate patients about the ultrasound procedure and ensure their safety and comfort.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues in a compassionate manner.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Skills & Experience:1 year of experience performing ultrasounds is preferred.Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or CCI certification.Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite.Education: Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program with clinical and didactic education.Certifications & Licenses:ARDMS or CCI certification.Infection Control certification.Language Skills: English: Speak, Read, Write
