Job Description:

(EBA) is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as construction inspection trainees for Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) projects in the Culpeper area. No prior experience is required-we will provide you with the training and support you need to succeed!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

* Conduct thorough inspections of roads, bridges, and other infrastructure to verify compliance with plans, standards, and specifications.

* Apply mathematical principles, including algebra and geometry, to perform accurate measurements and calculations.

* Use materials testing equipment to assess quality and durability.

* Create clear and concise documentation and reports to track project progress using e-construction and Microsoft 365 software.

* Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and contractors to complete construction tasks.

* Attend required training courses and obtain certifications.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:

* A valid driver's license and clean driving record

* A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification

* Willingness to learn and apply new information and concepts

* Strong communication skills, both oral and written

* Proficiency in mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

* Ability to compute length, area, and volumetric measurements

* Ability to use materials testing equipment effectively

* Ability to obtain necessary certifications within 6 months of employment. These may include, but are not limited to, OSHA 10; Nuclear Gauge Safety Training; VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control and Flagger, Soils & Aggregate Compaction, Asphalt Field Level I, Concrete Field Level I, Slurry Surfacing, Surface Treatment, GRIT, and Pavement Marking; and VA DEQ Dual Inspector and Erosion and Sediment Control.

* Competence in personal computers (Windows and MS Office applications)

* Able to lift up to 50 pounds

* Able to walk over rough and uneven terrain; stand for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing

* Able to work in various weather conditions and terrains

* Note: EBA pays for training courses and certifications in exchange for your commitment to work at the company for 12 months from the date of the last certification.
