This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Commerce. This position is located at 313 Chapanoke Rd., Raleigh, NC 27603.
The agency is seeking a driver to work on an on-call basis to operate the NCWorks Mobile Career Center RV across North Carolina, following dispatched instructions. The driver will be responsible for general operational tasks, including:
* Pre and post operational safety checks
* Driving to and from scheduled destinations following all applicable safety laws
* General operation and setup responsibilities include hydraulic leveling of the vehicle, extending the slide-out hydraulically, and ensuring computer and internet connectivity.
Additional responsibilities include tracking mileage to and from scheduled events and maintaining gas receipts. The driver will also perform light routine maintenance and clean the vehicle's interior. Some overnight travel and weekend work may be required.
The RV features 12 computerized workstations, a computer server, two flat-screen televisions, and internet capability.
A Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record is required, and preference will be given to candidates with a background in computer hardware, and those with extensive knowledge of North Carolina's highways. The driver must provide a copy of their driving record during the interview.
The funding source for the NCWorks Mobile Career Center Driver is through the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Rapid Response Program.

* Considerable knowledge of vehicle/equipment utilized in performance of daily tasks.
* Working knowledge of applicable traffic laws and other established regulatory requirements for performance of daily tasks.

* Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making in performance of daily tasks.
* Considerable knowledge to provide technical mentoring and training to others in operation of vehicles and equipment.
* Thorough knowledge of established safety and health policies.
* Thorough knowledge of equipment capability and limitations.
* Skilled in metal fabrication such as cutting and welding.
