Job Description:
Responsibilities: Vendor Management: -Identify potential vendors, suppliers, and contractors who align with our company's requirements and standards. -Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors to foster long-term partnerships. -Monitor vendor performance, including on-time delivery, product quality, and customer service, and implement measures to address any issues that may arise. -Evaluate vendor capabilities and capacity to ensure a reliable supply chain. Contract Negotiation: -Lead negotiations with vendors to secure contracts that offer substantial savings on pricing without compromising on quality. -Analyze contractual terms and conditions to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks. -Utilize strong negotiation skills to achieve the most favorable terms for the company. -Develop and maintain a comprehensive contract database with all relevant terms and conditions. Quality Control: -Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to define and enforce quality standards for vendors. -Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure vendors comply with the established quality requirements. Supplier Recruitment and Diversification: -Proactively seek out and recruit alternative suppliers to increase competition and leverage for better pricing and service. -Analyze market trends and identify potential new vendors that can enhance the company's supply chain. -5S and Lean Philosophy Implementation: Utilize 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to optimize the workplace and vendor management processes. -Apply lean philosophy to streamline vendor-related workflows and eliminate waste, enhancing efficiency and productivity. Requirements: Proven Record of Success: -Demonstrated track record of successful vendor management and contract negotiation, resulting in substantial cost savings and improved vendor performance. -Previous experience in achieving tangible results within the construction or modular building industry will be highly advantageous. Strong Negotiation Skills: -Excellent negotiation and communication skills to confidently interact with vendors and internal stakeholders. -Ability to balance company objectives with vendors' interests to achieve mutually beneficial agreements. Vendor Relationship Management: -Experience in building and maintaining positive and productive vendor relationships. -Ability to handle vendor-related conflicts and resolve issues efficiently. Analytical Thinking: -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement. -Proficient in data analysis and interpretation to make informed decisions. Organizational Skills: -Effective time management and organization skills to handle multiple vendor-related tasks simultaneously. Location and Availability: -Must be based in the Baltimore or Richmond, VA area. -Availability to work as a 1099 contractor with a flexible schedule. Modular Building or Construction Experience: -Background in modular building, construction, or a related field will be preferred.
