ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a newly created position that would be ideal for an individual willing to vet, train, manage, score, and collect data on the various vendors we use or are considering using, with a heavy emphasis on defense attorneys. Examples of vendors we use are attorneys, independent adjusters, appraisers, experts and software companies. We need a highly motivated individual to join our claims team. The Vendor Management Specialist will be responsible for providing superior customer service to internal and external customers that rely on our vendors during the claim handling process. The ideal candidate will add to and bolster DMC's unique culture – a workplace built on enthusiasm, entrepreneurship, integrity, communication, proactive problem solving, and a genuine passion for helping our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vet the various vendors we use.
  • Maintain updated/approved lists.
  • Collect, maintain and analyze relevant data.
  • Provide training per our schedule, to ensure that the vendors meet our requirements.
  • Attend trade events and one offs to improve vendor quality.
  • Work with operations, the adjusters, and managers to improve our vendor program.
  • Work with our software vendors to improve the claims handling process and data collection.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree is required.
  • Two or more years of claims/litigation experience in commercial auto.
  • Experience vetting/hiring/supervising defense attorneys.
  • Proficiency with data/IT is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and an aptitude to learn new programs.
  • Abide by departmental policies and procedures.
