Each of these experiences helps students to see beyond the classroom and to see the world - and themselves - in new ways.The Venue Host is responsible for the event execution at assigned Heritage Festival venue. The Venue Host works with the Event Host to ensure that the event at the secondary venue runs smoothly, ensuring adherence to the schedule, in the moment problem solving as issues arise, ensuring all logistical components are being accurately executed, and ensuring a high-quality experience for all event participants. The Venue Host works directly with the Event Host, venue partners, vendors, event participants, and adjudicators to ensure a successful event. The Venue Host reports to the Event Host.Event Host ResponsibilitiesServe as the head of event at secondary venue locationOwn all elements tied to the on-site execution of the event at the secondary venue locationMaster of Ceremonies for the event at secondary venue locationEnsure on time execution of the event schedule; making in the moment changes as necessary to avoid delaysReceive and direct event participants and adjudicators at secondary venue locationCollaborate with venue partners, vendors, and adjudicators to ensure smooth logistical execution of eventAnswer questions and address concerns of our customers in a service-oriented mannerEnsure that the secondary event space is clean prior to and after the eventBe knowledgeable of all policies and procedures and execute accuratelyEnsure proper setup and breakdown of secondary event space and A/VQualificationsExperience in event managementExcellent management, organizational, and planning skillsStrong leadership qualitiesAbility to anticipate problems and make contingency plansExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsFlexible and approachableStrong logistical, time management, and public speaking skillsDetail oriented with ability to prioritize and work on various tasks simultaneouslyExercise good judgment and solve problems while holding themselves and other accountable for the outcome of their workOutstanding solution-focused customer service skillsPhysically able to fulfill responsibilities associated with event execution.
