Job Description: The Department of Economics invites applications for the Vernon Taylor Distinguished Professorship to begin in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will demonstrate an outstanding record of teaching and research in economics, as well as enthusiasm for teaching in a liberal arts environment. The department is particularly interested in applicants with interests in environmental economics, urban economics, industrial organization, game theory, and/or econometrics. The Vernon Taylor Professorship is supported by a special endowment and is reserved for individuals who are widely recognized for their scholarly achievement. The position carries a teaching load of 3 to 4 courses per year. It comes with significant start-up funding and annual support for research and professional development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTeach 3-4 classes per year beginning with the Fall 2025 term. Develop and teach courses in Economics. Produce a steady stream of publishable research. Engage in appropriate levels of University and Departmental service.
APPOINTMENT DETAILSAppointment commensurate with experience at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONRequired: Ph.D. in Economics.
EXPERIENCERequired: Senior Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor or their equivalent.
Preferred: Some preference for teaching and research interests in environmental economics, urban economics, industrial organization, game theory, or econometrics.
