Job Description:

The position is open to INTERNAL/TCSG EMPLOYEES ONLY that meet the minimum qualifications below.

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to be considered for their full-time Veteran Technical Assistance Monitor position(s) within the Office of Workforce Development (OWD), open to statewide availability. The Veteran Technical Assistance Monitor is a key member of WorkSource Georgia's Job for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) technical assistance and administrative support team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Under direct supervision, the representative performs work requiring independent judgement to provide and/or develop research, analysis, reports, training, technical assistance and monitoring necessary to support the administration, operation and evaluation of the JVSG program.

* Trains WorkSource Georgia staff, along with other One-Stop partners and organizations, to enhance their knowledge of veterans' employment and training issues.

* Monitors service delivery of the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialists, Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVERS), and Consolidated (DVOP/LVER) staff, providing feedback and coaching where needed.

* Assist with process improvement, policy development, and providing programmatic support.

* May perform DVOP specialist duties such as the provision of individualized career services.

* May perform LVER staff duties such as employer outreach, coordination of job fairs, placement of eligible veterans in sustainable employment, among others.

* Responsible for consulting and coordinating with various representatives from federal, state, and local programs and employers to promote the development of entry-level and career job opportunities, job training, apprenticeships, and vocational counseling services for veterans.

* This position requires statewide travel, some overnight travel, and the availability to work weekends, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Candidate must be a qualified, eligible veteran*;

* Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university -and- two years of related experience; OR four years of related experience; OR two years of experience at the lower level Employment Services Specialist 1 or position equivalent.

* Applicants must provide proof of being a qualified veteran with a service-connected disability. Please attach a copy of your DD-214 and Disability Rating Certificate from the Veterans Administration that is dated within six months from the date of applying for the position. Applicants who fail to submit the appropriate supporting documentation (DD-214 and Disability Rating Certificate) will be required to provide these documents, if selected to interview for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA), related Wagner-Peyser (WP) Act, or the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program.

* Four years of experience in employment services, career or vocational guidance and counseling.

* Two years of experience two years of experience serving special needs population with significant barriers to employment.

* One year of experience leading/facilitating groups in order to instruct or provide information, in addition to conducting monitoring reviews of workforce-related programs.

* Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

* Experience delivering presentations in groups.

* Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
