Job Description Summary: The Logistics Manager reports to the Director of Logistics and has the responsibility of assisting the zones Logistics Analyst who are forecasting bulk product deliveries to ensure customer service levels and efficiency of operations with available resources while supporting the Airgas Merchant Gasses safety culture and adherence to DOT rules and regulations.
    • Be the embodiment of a servant leader for the logistics team, other functional areas and regional businesses
    • Implements the necessary operational performance metrics and tracks performance against objectives on a regular basis.
    • Owns and ensures reliability of input data into logistics optimization tools, such as Telemetry, on-board computers, and demand forecasting through partnering with Field Operations
    • Establishes and maintains communication with Logistics Director, Zone Distribution Directors, Region Sales and Supply Chain to ensure customer requirements are met.
    • Owns and develops Standard Operating Procedures to meet the ongoing needs of efficient and timely deliveries.
    • Helps ensure that customer complaints and service issues are resolved in a timely manner with proactive resolutions set in place for any future issues that may arise. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications
      • College degree with emphasis in operations management, logistics or business administration is preferred.Will accept five (5) years of logistics planning experience at Airgas in lieu of a college degree for internal candidates.
      • 2 years planning bulk deliveries
      • Strong leadership and management skills required including but not limited to coaching, progressive discipline, succession planning, etc. Preferred Qualifications
        • 3 or more years planning bulk deliveries in the Industrial Gas Industry preferred
